Application Process for New Members
The Board of Directors at their May, 1999, meeting discussed the application process for new members. A somewhat new procedure was developed and approved. From this date on, the first sponsor will request the membership application form for prospective new members from the Membership Chairperson. The Membership Chairperson will then send the sponsor the application plus the ABC Constitution and By-Laws and Code of Ethics for the sponsor to give to the applicant. A sponsorship letter and questionnaire will also be included for each sponsor. The first sponsor will then forward the application to the prospective member and the sponsorship form to the other sponsor.
After completing the membership application form, the applicant will return it to both sponsors for their signatures. The first sponsor will forward the application form together with both completed sponsorship questionnaires in one packet back to the Membership Chairperson for review by the Membership Committee. Application for membership and sponsorship questionnaires must be received by the Membership Chairperson by December 31st. Since this procedure could possibly require more time, but not necessarily, it is suggested that the first sponsor request applications well before that date.
